Stamina Rx® is a male sexual enhancement product marketed by Hi Tech Pharmaceuticals, a maker of various nutritional supplements. The product is said to be a “revolutionary sexual stimulant engineered to increase sexual stamina and arousal. This supplement claims to use “only the highest grade extracts and nutraceuticals,” and boasts of including “two proprietary components not found anywhere else in America.”
In fact, it appears that one of this product’s “proprietary components” may have toxic properties, to the point that an alert was issued regarding this ingredient. We are extremely concerned about the reports surrounding this ingredient. In addition, we would have preferred to see some of the more proven, potent sexual enhancement ingredients included in this formulation. We will assess this product for its ingredients, its effects, and its ability to safely enhance sexual performance.

We consider the ingredients Yohimbe and Epimedium to be two of the most effective aprhodisiacs currently available. These ingredients, which enhance libido, penile blood flow, erectile function and stamina, are currently included in many sexual enhancement supplements. However, we were disappointed to discover the inclusion of the ingredient Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa in this formulation. Unfortunately, a toxicity alert was apparently issued regarding the potential effects of this ingredient. According to this alert, “The herb Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa, found in several male sexual enhancement products targeted toward health food stores and marketed on the Internet, has been shown to contain a toxic ester.” This report goes on to state, “Research on the herb Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa has clearly demonstrated toxicity in specific low doses. To prevent another Ephedra fiasco, it makes sense to respond accordingly to the science when that research demonstrates possible harm or adverse reactions.”

Unfortunately, a Website advertising this product does not appear to feature either testimonials or a money-back guarantee on the product. This disturbs us, as we consider these to be two of the most important “lines of defense” for a customer. We consider testimonials to be important because, if authentic, they provide honest opinions from fellow consumers.
Often, consumers are bombarded with aggressive advertising that leaves them unsure of whom to believe. True consumer testimonials are a means of consumer interaction and information-sharing. We also believe that money-back guarantees are crucial, particularly in the realm of sexual enhancement. Because unsatisfied consumers are often too embarrassed to file complaints or pursue legal action, it is important that they at least have the option of discreetly receiving a refund.

While we agree that Epimedium and Yohimbe are fine sexual enhancement ingredients, these components can also be found in formulations that do not contain Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa. We are concerned about this potentially unpleasant ingredient’s ability to overshadow the better aspects of this formulation.
There are several herbal supplements that not only include Epimedium and Yohimbe, but combine them with several other superior ingredients. Currently, some of the most “talked-about” sexual enhancement ingredients include Tribulus Terrestris, Panax Ginseng, Damiana, Catuaba Bark Extract, and Muira Puama. These ingredients are specifically formulated to maximize libido, erection strength, testosterone production, and sexual endurance.
